  1. Pan, God of Nature and Wild Passion

Pan is a god of fertility, unbridled wild passion and desire but is also regarded as god of shepherds and flocks.

Symbol: A reed pipe (pipes of Pan) or a crown of pine needles.

    Domains: Animal, Earth, Trickery, Water.

Portfolio: Fauns, fertility, flocks, mountain streams, music, nymphs, satyrs, shepherds and shepherdess.

The parentage of Pan is unclear though in some myths he is the son of Zeus this is not universally accepted, however, all though in all accounts his mother is said to have been a nymph.

He is depicted as a satyr with a reed pipe, a shepherd's crook and a branch of pine or crown of pine needles. His wrinkled face has a very prominent chin and upon his forehead are two horns; his body is hairy and Pan walks upon cloven hooves. Pan is a swift runner and climbs rocks with ease and may, at times, be found feasting in the retinue of Dionysus.

    Beliefs:

Pan has no truly organised religion and his clerics roam freely among the wilds subtly aiding those that require it and beguiling those that would bring harm to the lands.

His clergy and followers are happy involve themselves in any feasting or festival they may happen across upon their way and indulge in such with a passion.

  2. Finnavar: Also known as the “king of the fairies” (fey)

Finnavar is the god of pleasure and enjoyment, who also has a great liking for gold. He is sometimes referred to as the lord of the dead, for he ‘collects’ the fallen brownies and fairies and turns them into gold. This is to stop their souls from roaming about freely across the world and causing havoc. His wife, Diaone Sidhe, comes just after him to save the souls from this imprisonment and send them to the afterlife.

He is mischievous by nature and not one that you should simply trust when you encounter him. Finnavar likes to play jokes on people, as do his followers. Those who actually gain their trust though will have valuable and trustworthy allies, as long as you do not offend them.

Also Finnavar is known for his love for women, and though married to Daoine Sidhe; he often still chases the brownies and even mortals for the sheer fun of it. Some followers of Daoine consider him to be the sign of infidelity, while others (often Finnavar’s own followers) see it as nothing more then a little fun and definitely good exercise. Because those long legged mortals sure can run!

Appearance: Finnavar is pictured as a round-bellied man; due to all the delicious food his wife makes for him, with a small grey beard. He looks a bit like a dwarf, yet his clothing immediately shows the difference. He is fond of bright colours and especially of golden. His symbol is a chest full of gold (sometimes with a few women dancing around it).

  3. Dionysos/Bacchus

    Domains: Plants, Travel

Bacchus or Dionysos are two identities of the same god. Mostly seen as a god of drunken party-animals he in fact started out as a fertility god. He just has a nick for good whine and doesn’t mind a good party.

He is displayed either as a young man with blushed cheeks and a cup in his hand, encircled with a vine of ivy. This is the image most often seen as it is most appealing to his female followers, and it fits best within the idea of a carefree god of parties and spirits. His other appearance is that of a goat or a bull. This has led to the ritual where during parties in his honour raw bull meat is torn off of a carcass of a bull and eaten raw. Often this occurs only after a few hours and a whole load of drinks.

Bacchus his followers enjoy parties and wine, but some also focus more on the growing aspect of him. They either tend to the grape plants to make wine or grain fields for beer. They can at times also be quite capable healers who help men and women who have problems with their fertility.

Bacchus has few enemies and few real friends. One cannot rely on him much, but no one hates a good party, and everyone is generally free to attend. Some of the other gods find his parties ‘below their standards’ and therefore stay away from him.

  4. Bast - The Cat Goddess

Bast (or Bastet) is an ancient Alishan Goddess who appears as either a woman with the head of a domestic or wild cat, or in animal form as a wide variety of feline breeds.

Bast followers treat the cat as a revered animal, often pampering to the whims of the felines and treating them better than they would treat their own family.

The Goddess herself is perceived by other religions as untrustworthy, as she is self-obsessed and focused upon her own gratification. She governs the realm of 'pleasure' in the ancient Alishan pantheon, which extends to all forms of pleasure making. However, unlike other gods who govern similar realms, Basts pleasure making is purely selfish and not directed at others. For example, Saint Marcus believes in pleasuring an entire community through gifts, food and festivals.... whereas Bast would expect all the food and gifts to be brought to her and her alone. It should be noted that Basts followers can be Clerics or Druids (or both). She also has a few arcane worshippers who are always accompanied by a Panther. These arcane users will always regard the Panther as their 'charge' whom they are to be guardian to, and will never deem the panther as their companion.

Bastets clerics (and druids) hold daily festivals where the cats are centre of attention. Gifts and Cream are placed at the foot of Basts statue, and none are permitted to remove them except for the cats. (Obviously if the cream goes sour, it is replaced)

If a cleric makes eye contact with a cat, they most avert their gaze and ask for forgiveness.

Of all Basts relationships, her strange companionship with Set is of most interest. She is seen to accompany Set as if she were a wife, but she refuses to marry him. In fact, many perceptions have seen Set to be Basts lover and recognise that Basts interest in him is purely for her own needs.

Though not an evil goddess, she truly has her own goals and the cunning to achieve them. If cornered, both Bastet and her clergy can become ferocious fighters and are deemed extremely dangerous. This cat has claws!!

Domains - Animal, Earth, Good, Evil, Trickery, War

Allies - Set (when it suits her).

    Enemies - None.

  5. Set - God of Night

Set, like Ra, was worshipped solely on Alisha Island. His followers shared the Ra temples, holding night time vigils whilst Ra was in the underworld and then vanishing to their naturally secretive lives before Ra awoke with the dawn. Set, in turn, would retreat to the Underworld at this time and return at sunset.

Unlike Ra, the Set followers have always been secretive, thus their mysterious nature is not related to the vanishing of the Ra clergy.

He is/was an Alishan god of chaos who embodied the principle of hostility if not of outright evil. He was associated with foreign lands and was the adversary of the god Osiris. Seth was usually depicted in human form with a head of indeterminate origin, though said to resemble that of an aardvark. He had a curved snout, erect square- tipped ears and a long forked tail. Sometimes he was represented in entirely animal form with a body similar to that of a greyhound.

Due to their secretive nature, it is unknown if followers of Set still exist. Despite the opposing natures, Ra and Set were not in direct opposition. In fact, Set was the son of Ra, lending weight to the idea that Ra was perfectly aware of his temples being used by his son’s followers, and tolerant of the fact.

Sets main adversary was Osiris (his brother), and possibly this is the reason that Sets followers hide during daylight without their Gods protection. Set had killed Osiris, forcing him to remain in the Underworld, but Osiris escaped with the help of his wife Isis and declared Set his sworn enemy.

As you can imagine, little is actually known of the facts of Sets existence. However, he is reputably one of the most diverse of the ancient Alishan deities..... governing over not only the Night but also Foreign Lands, Storms and Chaos (which is surprising and a contradiction due to his lawful nature). In the Book of the Dead Set was referred to as the "lord of the northern sky" and held responsible for storms and cloudy weather. It is claimed that he can leave the Underworld under these conditions, regardless of whether the sun is high in the sky.

Due to this diversity, Set followers may choose from many of the clerical spheres...such as Air, Evil, Travel, Trickery, Death, Destruction (chaos) and Animal.

Some have laid claims that Set is not truly a god as his forked tail suggests he is actually demonic. This allegation is unfounded. Being that his father is Ra, that claim would suggest his mother was a demon and thus is not a rumour that Ra followers would entertain.

Set has no outright enemies other than Osiris, although there are strained relations between his followers and those of Mask. Nor does he have any allies, though it is understood that Sets followers hold a respect for the followers of Ra (and vice versa) despite their obvious differences.

  6. Hecate

    Symbol: Crescent Moon

Worshipers' Alignments: All evil alignments and neutrals who are working with magic.

Hecate is deity of the underworld and companion to Persephone. She is known as the queen of the night and the goddess of the crossroads. Those whom she favours can move safely in darkness. She can appear as a woman with three faces, turned in three directions. In addition, Hecate can appear with three heads; a long-maned horse, a furious hell hound, and a terrible serpent.

Followers know her as the goddess that gives and takes away. As a night wanderer she uses spells that can deprive creatures of wit. Some believe that she grants wealth, fortune, or glory to those she approves of. Just as easily she can take that wealth away. Believers see her as determining the outcome of war and games of victory.

Her magic power comes in the form of sorcery or witchcraft. She mixes magic herbs and poisons with skill. It is said that she can stop rivers in their courses and still the very stars in the sky.

Hecate's clerics offer a sacrifice of eggs, honey, milk, and blood to her on the night of the full moon. They have been known to stand at crossroads at midnight and cry her name in all directions. Her clerics have a special affinity for hell hounds.

  7. Dolorian

    Domains: Evil, Trickery

The god of pain and suffering is often feared and hated, which is a logical human response. However, it is also somewhat short-sighted as pain is not all bad. Without pain one would constantly hurt oneself without any chance to notice it. In fact was it not for feeling pain the entire nature of healing would be falling apart, as healers would have a very hard time to determine what is wrong with a patient if they cannot tell or indicate where they are hurting.

Dolorian himself doesn't care one bit for helping the healers of the land with pain, unless they manage to prologue the suffering of someone by trying to heal him. He quite enjoys the overconfidence of healers who then later fail to heal their patient and the mental pain this causes the healer.

Dolorian appears as a white skinned man with red eyes and pale white hair.

It is clear that Dolorian has a significant enjoyment from seeing people suffer and hurt. It goes to the point where the god is even capable of drawing power from people who are in pain. He will often actively strive to create suffering and pain for people, but will never directly harm someone in doing so. With the power that he controls this wouldn't be much of a suffering anyhow as death would be at your doorstep the moment Dolorian so much as strikes you.

To create pain Dollorian often uses his minions and followers. They can strive to cause physical pain, and the less intelligent ones will most certainly try this, but the true pain and suffering lies not in the body but in the mind and soul. Hurting the mind and soul often requires more cunning approaches and Dolorian does not mind to use deceit and illusions to reach his goals.

There have been rumours of his priests posing as healers even, healing small wounds and so winning the trust of the people. After they have that they slowly start to poison and create small discomforts for people. In time this worsens and plagues start to spread throughout the community. The people turn to the priest and are given partially beneficial treatments, in fact those only prologue the suffering. Important to note is that such a community is seldom allowed to be wiped out by the plague, often even the priest will cure a good deal of the people. This however will result in them being forced to burry friends and family, and live with the loss. A much greater suffering them simple death.

One of the more cunning gods, Dolorian will do anything to get people to hurt, however he seldom goes so far that the hurt would draw to much attention to him. As he is not all too loved within the realms of the gods as it is, drawing unwanted attention would be unwise. His followers often perform rituals to him that involve stabbing creatures with a knife in the joint. Most often they use sheep and boars for this practise, which suits Dolorian just fine.

There are however also more diabolical sects who do it to the members of their own temple, and worse to other people. Dolorian is not too fond of this practise, not because the pain and suffering is unsatisfying but more because it can lead to unwanted attention from a community and the other gods.

Dolorian has a very peculiar relationship with Ilmater, as he is her complete opposite. Where he brings pain, she bring relieve, where he brings suffering she brings comfort. Though vastly at odds with each other they never openly fight one another. Both seem to understand that they are two sides of the same coin, without suffering there can be no relief. And without relieve there would not be a place for suffering.

The Cult of the Shattered Hand

There is a story of a high priestess of Mielikki being kidnapped by such a sect. While on the offering table the door suddenly flew open and there stood a man, dressed in a black coat. His reddish eyes slowly drifted over the woman, as the priest was about to stab her, his hand was suddenly stopped mid air. The man’s white hair and white skin reflected in the moonlight as he stated with a voice that shook the very earth: “You are not my followers, you are imbeciles”.

After which all the bones in the priest’s hand could be heard shattering as the knife fell to the ground. The sound of shattering bones soon filled the room as each of the followers their right hands were crushed. The man smiled slightly at the screams of pain and took the priestess from the table. She was pale white and shaken by all the screams, yet she followed the man who softly spoke to her about being returned to her lady. While they walked out the door the screams echoed through the empty streets.

Days later the followers were found, raving mad, screaming how their god had blessed them with more suffering. Most of them were deported to an Asylum immediately. Some managed to escape this fate and have since started the Cult of the Shattered Hand. This cult consists of the most evil and twisted minds who enjoy their own suffering as much as the suffering of others. They work in secrecy and are often a tale to scare children in the alleys of Port City. The Cult of the Shattered Hand will come and take you in the dead of night if you aren’t good. Perhaps only a fairy tale, or perhaps not.

  8. MASK - Lord of Shadows

Mask is a deity who has been alledged to have had a loss in power. Many other religions percieve Mask as a Lesser Deity.

Mask is the god of rogues, thieves, and is the lord of shadows. He appears as a lithe man garbed in dark clothing and a cloak of shadows. He always wears a black velvet mask, tinged with red; this has also become his symbol.

Mask is very self-possessed and confident - often too confident for his own good.

All that which occurs within shadow is in the purview of Mask. Ownership is nine-tenths of what is right. Previous ownership does not count. Therefore the day belongs to the quick, the smooth-tongued, and the light fingered. Stealth and wariness are virtues, as are glibness and the ability to sound smooth-tongued and conciliatory while taking control of a situation or twisting it to your advantage.

In addition to thieves and more shadowy individuals, courtiers and diplomats have been known to evoke the god's name in hopes of guaranteering a smooth negotiation.

The Temple of Mask is segregated into different factions. These factions constantly battle each other for supremacy, such as the Temple in Annakol and the Temple outside Farwest City. Each of these factions deem the other to be as viable a target as any traveller. In rare circumstances, individuals may even turn on their own factions brethren.

It is rumored that, if the internal hostility was finally laid to rest, that Mask may even gain in prominence once more. However, the factions differences run too deep and neither seems capable of compromise.

Masks factions have many enemies, but they both seem to have a mutual disliking for Oghma, Eirene and Saint Marcus. The faction outside Farwest City adds Tyr to its list of enemies.

  9. Kebunam, the Executioner

    Domains -none-

    Clerical Domains - Destruction, Evil.

Kebunam is as much a god as it is merely some form of higher being, perhaps at a time it was a messenger of some god or maybe a champion or such. Regardless Kebunam evolved into something much more sinister.

Kebunam is a huge lizardlike creature who dwells in hot humid regions. It has eyes that can see all around and arms that he can turn into razor-sharp scythes at will. Hence his nickname, The Executioner.

Kebunam possesses the power to look into people's minds and take their worst nightmares. He will take the form of this nightmare and make it seem as real as life itself. The results of this can vary, some may die in that nightmare and thus also in life. Others may go mad in the nightmare that is Kebunam and turn into complete lunatics. Others may try to resist the nightmare and if they become too much of a hassle either be released, or taught why Kebunam is called the Executioner.

In truth Kebunam has little to gain from these diabolic practises, it does not gain power from killing, nor does it serve any greater goal to bring people's nightmares into reality. It does it because it can, because its twisted mind has nothing better to occupy itself with.

Kebunam's followers are often lizards or evil shamans and dream weavers. However their power never comes directly from Kebunam itself. It couldn't care less if people would follow it or not, they may be saved if they happen to bring another victim as an offering, but only because it's occupied with that victim, not because they are such good followers.

Some tribes who worship Kebunam have been known to capture groups of people and release them deep within the tropical jungle as an offering to the Nightmare Lord. Not that this truly keeps them any safer then they already were, but better save then sorry. After all, no one wants to face their worst nightmare.

As Kebunam does not directly grant power to anyone who claims to be its follower this holds some consequences for its priesthood. Most of the time they either serve another deity as well, or are arcane casters. One could come a short way on believing in oneself and thereby drawing upon power, maybe slightly further by believing that Kebunam somehow favors you. In the end however a priest who purely worships Kebunam will hit a barrier to its power in the divine arts. That or die because of people who killed the priest for his evil practises, the priest killing himself over realising his god does not favour him at all, or because the priest believed so much in his faith that he thought Kebunam would not hurt him while he tried to watch an execution.

Kebunam possesses but one true enemy, namely Loki who betrayed him in a fight against Tyr. Kebunam was persuaded to fight along side Loki against Tyr, but when it came to it Loki fled and left Kebunam to die. It did not take kindly to that, and after it managed to escape it made a vow to itself to one day make Loki's worse nightmare reality.

  10. Hades - God of the Underworld, Wealth and Death

The elder brother of Zeus, God of the Air, Hades rarely leaves his underground kingdom, here the dead reside, and fade, after death; Cerberus and Charon guard the other gate to his realm.

Symbol: A dark and open faced helm.

Clerical Domains: Death, Earth, Healing, Protection.

Hades, alone, of all the gods holds the right to restore life to the truely dead; a right which he guards jealously so much so that those that strive to live on after their rightful time atract is attention and his ire.

So long has Hades resided in the twilight of his realm that the harsh light of even the darkest night is an anathema; thus it is that another, Aisha, Mistress of Night, now gathers the souls of the dead and seeks restitution of those that seek to deny the underworld lord.

    Beliefs:

Hades has the power to bring death or wealth to any mortal and his priests hoard the gold collected as fees for raising the dead in the dark caverns that serve as his temples.

  11. Aisha: Mistress of Night, the Gatherer of Souls

Kharados the Mage was a powerful man, and like all powerful men he loved beautiful things; his beautiful mansions, his beautiful tower, his beautiful gardens, his beautiful treasury and, most of all, his beautiful elven wife Arvalan.

Yet Kharados feared, as all, powerful, men do, one thing – Kharados feared his own death. And so he honed his magic and, by hiding his heart in the shadowy folds of magics mantle he held the hand of Hades at bay - and over the ages the wrath of Hades grew.

Then there came a time of joy to Arvalan, though Kharados was racked with fear, for she fell pregnant with child and, in time, she gave birth to a girl child, radiant and bright, that she named Corinda for the light that seemed to glimmer about her.

But after the birth of her child Aravalan sickened and grew gravely ill, pale and feverish; for three days the stricken elf lay still and silent upon her birthing bed until, at midnight of the third night, her piercing scream shook the household.

In the night Arvalan gave birth to a second daughter, but Aisha was born with cold eyes and a darkened skin; in giving Aisha life her mother perished, for the strain of her labour proved too great for the fragile elf maid.

Kharados was devastated and distraught yet, as his daughters grew to beautiful young women, he found pleasure anew for, while Aisha herself grew tall and fair, Corinda grew to be the glorious image of her mother; and for that Kharados loved Corinda the more.

So it was that Hades conceived a plan and whispered long over many years to Aisha in the deep of the night whence Aisha learned her dark arts, and made her pact with the ‘cheated’ Lord of the Dead.

There came a time of great rejoicing, for the young ladys were to come of age and Kharados ensured the day would be remembered in the memories of those he wished to impress, though for Corinda (as always) was the day mostly blessed.

It was there that, at the height of the festivities, Aisha struck, erasing the burden of her troubled youth.

Beautiful fireworks graced the twilight skies as Kharados embraced his most beloved daughter before all who sought his favour, Aisha stepped unseen from the shadows and slew her twin sister with a single stroke of her shimmering blade.

In that instant, as Corinda fell, within the shadowy folds of magics mantle the heart of Kharados was frozen, shattered and broken to myriad pieces, and death’s hand found Kharados at last.

And thus, amid the jubilant laughter of Hades, Aisha, Mistress of Night, the Gatherer of Souls, slipped unseen in to the Immortal Dark.

  12. Talos, the Destroyer

Talos is the destructive force of nature. He is the god of storms, forest fires, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, and general destruction.

Symbol: A clench, mauled fist amid a stylised tornado or an ice encrusted great axe.

    Domains: Air, Destruction, Strength.

Portfolio: Cruelty, stubbornness and loyalty, cold, despair, pain, suffering and winter,

Talos is usually encountered as titanic, bellowing laughter in the heart of a gale. Sometimes the laughter is accompanied by two eyes like giant blazing coals, which are surrounded by swirling maelstroms of air, in urban areas Talos more often manifests as two fist-sized, swirling storm clouds.

Talos is both feared and revered by those most often must risk his wrath and sailors, in particular, to placate him.

Talos attracts the destroyer, the raider, the looter and the brigand among his followers. His actions often seem petty and vengeful and are frequently motivated by rage, anger and the desire to not appear weak or compromising in any way to his followers.

    Beliefs:

The followers of Talos believe that life is a combination of random effects and chaos such that the devout should grab what they can, when they can, as who can say when Talos will strike and bring them into afterlife.

While there may be benefits in co-operation with others it is, ultimately, ones own prowess that (and responsibility which) will ensure the survival of ones self and family.

To enter the priesthood, initiates must undergo a ritual exposing them to the Judgement of Talos wherein they must seek alone the pelt of some great beast while enduring the extremities of the gods rage.

His priests wear long coats of brown and white, and almost all manifest qualities of cruelty, stubbornness, pragmatism, and loyalty - traits favoured by the god and cultivated in his followers; the favoured weapon of these clerics is the great axe both for its utility in cutting down trees and for its heft and deadly swing in combat.

It should be noted that clergy of Talos enjoy destruction and arm themselves heavily to bring it about while wielding the most destructive of magic at all times.

  13. Lolth – Demon Queen of Spiders, Weaver of Chaos

Lolth the Spider Queen is cruel and malicious, constantly plotting to ensure that the strongest and most cunning of her followers rise to serve her; all spiders are sacred to her and to kill or harm one of her children is an offence punishable by death.

Symbol: A black spider with the head of a female drow hanging from a web.

Clerical Domains: Death, Destruction, Evil, Magic, Trickery.

Portfolio: Chaos, Darkness, Deceit, Murder and Evil.

In times past the goddess Arushnee inspired the Dark Kindreds to battle in wars not of their making, in a rising tide of hatred the Drowbane wars raged in ages past and the blood of elf and human alike spilled in great lakes upon the eastern lands. As the struggle became darker, more insidious and evil, the drow and their goddess turned to blacker and crueler arts and these aspects were manifested in the Demon Queen.

At length the strength of the dark kin was spent and, mocked as they retreated, they fled unto the depths of Galandar; there in the Underdark they brooded and, in time, built the Great City of Erelhui-Cinlu and rekindled their strength. In the darkness the militant mind of the Drow was bent upon the darkest aspects of their goddess and the power of Lolth grew great; it is in the might and the terrible beauty of the Demon Queen that the drow seek their dominion.

    Beliefs:

The clergy of Lolth are most entirely women though males may rise, on occasion, to other high office in her service; though such service may often prove treacherous and brief.

Lolths clerics prey for the darkest and foulest of magic before retiring or after waking from trance; the Demon Queen requires regular homage in prayer and in sacrifice of the blood of faithful drow or captured foes. Dark ceremonies are performed monthly at the time of the full moon – a deliberate affront to the Seldarine.

Her priestesses hold high regard within the militant drow and upon the streets of Erelhei-Cinlu they are obeyed almost without question by it’s citizens; powerful and quick to anger punishment for disobedience may swift and destructive.

Lolth is most frequently found in the form of a giant black widow spider though her form may be changed to that of an extremely beautiful drow female; these two forms may be combined to produce a giant spider with the head, and at whiles the torso, of a beautiful drowses.

The Demon Queen is a presence to be feared.

  14. Loki - The Mischievous

Loki has emerged as a deity across the entirety of Galandar in many forms. Some consider Loki to be nothing more than mischeivous, wheras others deem Loki to be highly chaotic and evil. This spread in opinions is, in itself, typical of Lokis nature who seems to be surrounded in many contradictions.

One such contradiction is his or her appearance. Loki is typically thought to appear as a middle-aged to elderly male with black hair and beard. However, Loki has also appeared as a beguiling woman, again with flowing black hair, lending support to the idea that Loki is in fact female. However, to further the confusion, Loki is depicted by the Dahklings as a Halfling Child of indeterminate gender, though once again the hair is long and dark black, sweeping over the eyes.

Whatever race or gender Loki appears as, his/her realm is always mischief and/or outright chaos. Loki seldom appears to followers or answers their pleas, choosing instead to send one of his many Chaos Demons to speak on his behalf. One such Demon goes by the name of Harah and is alledged to be his/her daughter.

Loki has, throughout history, held several alliances with other deities.... but has betrayed them all. It is alledged that, due to these betrayals, Loki is in hiding and fearful of being found by the likes of Kebunam or Tyr.

Current enemies include Kebunam (who Loki tried to kill), Tyr, Talos and Saint Marcus.

Loki has no allies, due to the fact that all previous allies were betrayed to some extent.

The most famous of Lokis betrayals was when Loki and Kebunam waged war upon Tyr. Loki saw the opportunity to rid the 'World of Gods' of the self-righteous Tyr and one of his/her greatest and fearsome rivals, so fled the battlefield when Kebunam expected support. Lokis plan failed when Kebunam escaped Tyrs might, and changed his focus to hunting down Loki for all eternity. Some have laid claim that Tyr allowed Kebunam to flee, as it brought an ironic sense of justice onto Lokis shoulders.

Lokis followers may choose from any school of cleric spells, however they MUST select the trickery domain as their primary domain. They tend to also be adept at lies and deceit (high bluff skill). Both Loki and his/her followers have a tendency to avoid direct confrontation, preferring to trick or persuade others into doing their will. It is not unknown for Loki clerics to use their secondary domain to pass themsleves off as a cleric of another deity. Thus, it is possible to find Loki clerics sometimes in high positions of different (and opposing) temples.

    Other Non-humans

In general, kobolds, orcs, ogres, giants, and their like tend toward animism. They believe that all things, animate or inanimate, have a soul with spiritual and physical power. The souls of slain creatures and beings join with and increase the power of the killer. Scattered groups of these non-human creatures worship arch-devils, lesser devils, and demons such as Asmodeus, Baalzebub, and Barbed. An even smaller number of these creatures follow one of the evil, neutral, and good deities listed above. For example, the peaceful half-orc Utarg Tribe of the Hidden Forest worships Mielikki.
