NeoRebel
Self-explanatory. :P Server has been down since morning, so I think it's not a simple reboot.

Flamecrow
Seems to be either a complete crash of the system or an internet problem as remote access is unavailable. Let's hope things are restored on short notice and it's nothing serious.
charissa1066
The server has completely locked-up several times this past week. Barry suspects a piece of recently updated software, not related to NWN. He is doing some server maintenance before starting it again. We are sorry for it was down and sorry for the inconvenience. The server will be up within an hour.

The server will be up within an hour. NO - I did NOT suspect some updated software, i said i was removing it to remove the possibility that it could be the problem - IT WAS NOT. The Puzzle IS - what can cause NWN to crash AND crash the computer's OS as well. Answer: There are some things but most of the answers are classified due to the principle -- NEVER TELL THIS TYPE OF THING TO EVERYONE!!! Yea that type of info is dangerous and it appears to be being used on or at Annakolia. This could be unknown or innocent use -- Such as using overrides OR IP sharing without using separate user IDs in the NWNplayer.ini file. OR Could be malicious as in using some little known and guarded secrets of NWN vulnerability -- such can crash servers and operating systems. If it is innocent use of IP sharing without setting unique player IDs or using overrides -- IF YOU ARE READING THIS, PLEASE FIX IT NOW. The evidence does not fit IP sharing but could fit use of NWN overrides. So far, observed, are fluctuating CPU spikes of NWN activity which can lead to a crash and IS associated with rogue scripts caused by use of overrides. I will not go into the technical how this happens and apparently MS Windows OS are prone to the problem while Linux is not - however i will say that the ONLY times i have seen the OS crash with NWN is when the data ports or winsock or communication ports are involved -- Which speaks to certain types of trouble from a player or players logging on. The server just a few days ago finished a 480 + hours (cannot remember the exact count now), and that speaks to an ultra stable server. In the time since that reboot we have had some new players. If you are new, please check for these listed problems. We have also had some old friends returning -- please, check for these issues - i have done all diagnostics and maintenance - all checks out fine and as i said, the server just ran unrebooted smoothly for some close to 18 days. To experience these crashes and with the physical evidence i am looking at speaks to a problem with a player.
