NeoRebel
Does anyone know how is NWN2 after the expansions Mask of the Betrayer and Storm of Zehir were released? Did the multiplayer mode improve or is it the same pitiful situation from the release? Also, we could think about coding some of the (good) ideas that came with NWN2. (nah, I'm not even thinking about Monkey Grip. Nuh-uh, that must be your imagination. *whistles*)
Barry_1066
NWN2 never addressed the multiplayer issues - many promises were made and a few fixes here and there but the really important things, basic to good MP experience enjoyed by NWN, were never worked on. The reasons are: 1) They could make their money pumping out single player stuff so why sink money into MP for what is already released. 2) The thinking on MP releases has changed in the big game circles - making something like NWN gives the game too much life and folks don't buy and play the new stuff - they want you to want THEIR new stuff, not continue making games of your own with stuff they sold you 10 years ago. NeoRebel
I know very well what you mean with multiplayer changing since the first NWN. Games with downloadable content, a thing that came with the current generation of consoles and, obviously, was far easier to implement on PC games. And even with that, assuming you would buy the downloadable contents, the game usually doesn't live longer than it would without it. Today's game market is thinking less about quality and more about profit. :( Oh yeah, also the so called "MMORPGs"... which have nothing to do with RPGs (save for some very rare cases). I could even imagine Obsidian's programmers thinking "Okay, we'll give you all the tools necessary to make NWN2 the ultimate multiplayer experience... for a small, tiny, pitiful, rock-bottom monthly fee of $$$$$$$$." -_-
